The Green Bay Packers activated tackle Derek Sherrod from the physically-unable-to-perform list on Tuesday afternoon and placed tight end Jermichael Finley and rookie linebacker Sam Barrington on season-ending injured reserve.

Finley caught 25 passes for 300 yards and three touchdowns in six games before sustaining a bruised spinal cord against the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 20.

Barrington had three special teams tackles in seven games before a hamstring injury knocked him out of Monday nightís game against Chicago.

Sherrod, a 2011 first-round draft pick who has been practicing for three weeks, broke his leg in two places in a December 2011 game against Kansas City.

Once a PUP player starts practicing, there is a three-week window before they must be put on the roster or injured reserve, or released.

An additional move to the 53-man roster has not been announced, but several media reports say quarterback Scott Tolzien will be promoted from the practice squad.
