Residents weren't afraid to suggest bold solutions Wednesday during a forum that looked at the Menasha Joint School District's financial woes, including cutting back to a four-day school week to save money.

Nearly 30 community members attended the session at Maplewood Middle School to brainstorm ways to alleviate rising costs and generate more revenue.

The district faces a $1.9 million deficit for the 2014-15 school year. Business services director Brian Adesso said Menasha has made significant cuts in recent years, and any further reductions would hurt programming. ...
