Woman of Distinction to be named at Nov. 20 meeting

Mid-Day Women's Alliance will announce the winner of the Woman of Distinction award at its Nov. 20 meeting.

The award is given to a woman who has made a difference in her community and the lives of others.

Nominees were Irene Strohnbeen, principal and owner of Irene Strohnbeen & Associates; the late Dr. G. Manns, founder of B.A.B.E.S. Inc. and senior pastor at Appleton Outreach Ministries; Barb Bigalke, executive director of the Center for Suicide Awareness; Cody Splitt, attorney; Maria Turner, executive director of CASA of the Fox Cities; and Karen Van Liere, sales representative for American Family Insurance.

The meeting will be held at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in downtown Appleton. Networking will begin at 11:30 a.m. The program, which includes lunch, will run from noon to 1 p.m.

The cost is $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers who purchase tickets by Nov. 18, or $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers at the door. To register and purchase tickets in advance, go to www.middaywomen.org/meetings.
