Area food pantries need help meeting growing need

With two months remaining in the year, the Lutheran Food Pantry has already served more than 500 more families this year than it did all of 2012.

In 2012, the pantry served 3,490 families. This year, 4,018 families have come through the Division Street doors through the end of October , said Doris Wolfgram, manager of Lutheran Food Pantry. An average of 20 new families come to the food pantry each month.
