Public meeting on Business 51 set for Nov. 20

The city of Stevens Point will hold a public information meeting for the corridor study for Business 51 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 20 at Jefferson Elementary School, 1800 East Avenue.

The meeting will be held in an open house format, with a brief presentation is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. Various exhibits and maps will be on display, and project staff will be available to speak with the public. Information about the study can be viewed on the city's website at www.stevenspoint.com/construction.

The limits for the Business 51 study extend from the south limits of the city to the Interstate 39 ramps. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss detailed alternatives developed to address the following corridor needs: Safety, pavement, bicycle and pedestrian accommodations, geometrics, and aesthetics.
