Police are investigating claims that a Wausau teenager was drugged and taken to Mexico against her will when she disappeared in 2004 with her boyfriend.

Connie McCallister, who was 16 when she vanished, told investigators she initially left Wausau voluntarily to attend a graduation party in Milwaukee with then-22-year-old Freddie Ruiz. One day later, she woke up in Mexico, according to a statement issued Thursday by Wausau Police Capt. Greg Hagenbucher.
