A group of volunteers and donors has come together to save a retreat center that was scheduled to close its doors by the end of this year.

Though St. Anthony Spirituality Center will lose funding from the Capuchin Province of St. Joseph next year, it will continue to host retreats, funded by a nonprofit called St. Anthony's of Marathon Inc. that donors created to preserve the center.

The center's leaders declined to release how much money the nonprofit paid for the property or to identify its major donors. ...
