Penny War and Food Drive Update

Staff and students were involved in a school-wide fundraiser for a Weston family who lost their home to a house fire. Throughout a six-day competition, classrooms brought in money and food items to help this family get back on their feet. Rothschild Elementary raised $1,168.48 and many food items.

This experience taught everyone how to be a good community member and to help those who are less fortunate. Mrs. Lawrences' third-grade class took third place, Mrs. Gressers' fifth-grade class took second place, and the winning classroom was Mrs. Lancelles' first-grade class.

Halloween Celebration

Students and staff celebrated Halloween on Oct. 31 by parading through the halls dressed in costumes; the parade was followed by individual classroom parties.

She develops environmental education lessons and holds classes for her co-workers to encourage other teachers to take their students to the school forest.
