Grant to help residents with storm damage

Some Outagamie County residents whose homes were damaged in the August storms may receive financial relief.

The Wisconsin Department of Administration's housing division awarded Outagamie County a $500,000 grant to assist low- to moderate-income residents with repair costs to homes damaged in the Aug. 6-7 tornadoes and severe thunderstorms.

The storms, which began late Aug. 6 and carried into Aug. 7, included five tornadoes within Outagamie County's borders. About 60,000 We Energies customers lost power for an extended period of time. The storm caused $36 million in damages, ...
