The Green Bay Packers placed quarterback Seneca Wallace on injured reserve after the veteran sustained a groin injury Sunday, and officially announced the signing of quarterback Matt Flynn, who was with them from 2008-11.

Wallace played in two games for the Packers this season with one start and completed 16 of 24 passes for 139 yards with an interception. In Wallace's first start for the Packers, he suffered a groin injury after the first series Sunday against Philadelphia.

Flynn, a 6-foot-2, 225-pounder, was drafted by the Packers in the seventh round of the 2008 draft. He left Green Bay as a free agent to sign with Seattle in 2012 but was beaten out by Russell Wilson.

The Seahawks traded him to Oakland in the offseason, but he was cut after failing to win the starting job. He was also signed and cut by Buffalo this season.

With the Packers, Flynn completed 82 of 132 passes (62.1 percent) for 1,015 yards and nine touchdowns with five interceptions for a 92.8 passer rating.

Flynn will wear No. 10 and wide receiver Chris Harper will wear No. 13.
