EDITOR: You came, you bought, you're reading.

A huge thank you to residents of Stevens Point and the surrounding communities. The Stevens Point Area Retired Teachers' Association's October book sale was, indeed, the best ever. Thanks to your donations and purchases, we have more than $5,000 to disburse to area charities.

We would again like to thank Janelle and Chuck Iberg for the wonderful donation of bookshelves and new books from the former Bookfinders store. We received many compliments on the organization of the sale and the new shelving certainly contributed to the clean look.

A big thank you also goes to the Stevens Point School District for allowing us to rent part of the gymnasium at Jackson School.

Nonprofit groups that would like to apply for funding should call Joyce at 715-446-1485 or Mary Ann at 715-344-2453 to obtain a grant application. Priority is given to programs that enhance the lives of children and seniors and provide educational opportunities.

We are already planning for the March sale. Mark your calendars for March 12 through March 15. People who have items to donate for that sale can drop them off at Jackson School on between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 13, Dec. 11, Jan. 8, Jan. 22, Feb. 12, Feb. 26 and March 5.

Items accepted include books, audio books, CDs, albums, videos, DVDs and puzzles.

Again, thanks to all who visited our sale and bought books.

Janeen Kwarciany and Nancy Kemmeter,

Book Project Committee, Sparta,
