Marshfield company to pay $22.8 million for stealing business secrets

Custom Fabricating and Repair Inc., 1932 E. 26th St., is looking to reach a settlement with Minneapolis-based RELCO LLC after a jury found the Marshfield company misappropriated confidential business information related to cheese-processing equipment.

Both companies design, manufacture and install food and dairy processing equipment.

The jury awarded RELCO $22.8 million from CFR, its subsidiary Cheese and Whey Systems Inc. and former RELCO employees Troy Gascoigne and Roger Ochsner, who came to work for the CFR subsidiary in January 2010. ...
