After two years of intense planning, the Marathon County Historical Society is ready to unveil a new permanent exhibit that tells the stories of Marathon County through the eyes of its residents.

Our Stories: The History of Marathon County is a feast for the eyes and ears - signs, matchbooks, menus and other memorabilia from past businesses line the walls. A giant bark canoe, newly restored, suspended from the ceiling, represents the importance of rivers in the county. Two enormous murals depict life during the logging era.
