Police are searching for a 55-year-old man accused of eighth-offense drunken driving who failed to return to jail after he was let out to attend a funeral.

Kelly Kloss of Merrill faces felony escape charges in Marathon County Circuit Court in addition to the felony drunken driving charge filed earlier this month. The escape charge, filed Wednesday, carries a maximum penalty of six years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Kloss, who was being held in the Marathon County Jail on a $5,000 cash bond, was released on Monday after a Marathon County Circuit judge granted his request for temporary release ...
