Officials release name of UWSP student in possible overdose death

Stevens Point Police suspect a drug overdose might have caused the weekend death of a 21-year-old University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point student.

Officials with the police department confirmed that the body found Sunday was that of Jordan C. Peterson. Peterson was a senior biology major originally from Markesan.

Police responded to a call at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday of a man discovered dead in his home in the 1800 block of Briggs Street, about one block from Division Street near downtown. Stevens Point police detectives and the Portage County Coroner's Office were called to the scene, ...
