Jim Brickman feels more like a songwriter than a pianist.

The 52-year-old Cleveland native, who's become synonymous with the adult contemporary genre, is known for tickling the ivories with stars from Martina McBride to Wayne Brady, but Brickman is far from just talented accompaniment. With nine albums to his name, including his latest, "The Magic of Christmas," Brickman has an entire catalog of hit songs, though he says not everyone realizes he's the composer until they see him in concert.
