It's not often NFL teams are dealt a 'Get out of Megatron free' card.

Nearly two months ago, the Green Bay Packers were afforded that last-minute luxury when they discovered Calvin Johnson, Detroit's three-time Pro Bowler, was a late scratch with a knee injury.

Without its 6-foot-5, 245-pound alpha receiver for only the fifth time in his seven-year NFL career, Detroit's offense fell flat. One-dimensional and unable to run, the Johnson-less Lions managed only 286 yards and were throttled in a 22-9 defeat. ...
