Ebenezer Scrooge hates Christmas. He has ever since author Charles Dickens debuted "A Christmas Carol" in 1843.

The celebrated adaptation by Charles Jones of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" returns to the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in Appleton at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. It's one of 21 stops for the Nebraska Theatre Caravan, which is celebrating 35 years of putting on the show.

For actress Elizabeth McMonagle, who plays Belle, "A Christmas Carol" is a wonderful excuse to come back home. She's from De Pere, attended high school at Notre Dame Academy in Green Bay and graduated in 2010 ...
