Team hopes to lean on experienced sprint swimmers

The Sturgeon Bay boys high school swim team has a distinctive Door County flavor since the cooperative program is also drawing four swimmers from Sevastopol and one from Southern Door this season.

With a modest turnout of 14, coach Tony Smith welcomes the additional help as the program tries to rebound from a subpar season last year and climb a few rungs up the Eastern Wisconsin Conference ladder.

"We're not going to be great," Smith readily admits. "But I feel we'll be competitive at the conference level." ...
