? Reynolds "Renny" Challoner, Luxemburg, was elected to the Carroll University board of trustees for a three-year term. Challoner was recently president of NEW Paradigm Advisors, a consulting firm. From 1990 to 2000, he was owner, president and chief executive officer of Lord's Dental Studio, Green Bay. Challoner graduated from Carroll with a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1964. With his wife, Barbara, a 1963 Carroll graduate, Challoner received Carroll's Distinguished Alumni Award for Community Service in 2012.

? Mike Smith was promoted to general sales manager at WFRV, Channel 5. Smith has been national sales manager since 2000 and has served Northeastern Wisconsin advertisers for almost 30 years.

Achievements

? The Department of Administration is awarding nearly $1 million in diesel truck idling reduction grants to 52 Wisconsin motor carriers. These grants will help fund diesel truck idling reduction technologies. Some area companies to receive grants include Americas Service Line, Mobile Service and Jim Piontek Trucking, Green Bay; K Thunder, Abrams; Kevin Voigt Trucking, Black Creek; Performance Transportation, Seymour; John Veriha Trucking, Marinette; and WEL Companies, De Pere.

? G.I. Jobs has included Schneider National on its Top 100 Military Friendly Employers list for 2014. At 10, Schneider is the highest ranked trucking and intermodal company.


Justin Rebman, financial representative with Northwestern Mutual, Green Bay, has joined the company's 2013 Forum group. Rebman is affiliated with The Blevon's Group, Appleton, and this is the second year he has been recognized for helping clients achieve financial security.

Awards

? Jacqueline Larsen, owner of Fitnessology, Green Bay, was a finalist for the 2014 PFP Media national Trainer of the Year award. She was named runner-up.

? The Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau received the Wisconsin Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus' 2013 Wisconsin Tourism Trailblazer Award for the Green Bay Restaurant Week marketing campaign. The CVB received a joint effort marketing grant from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism and partnered with Brown County Restaurant Association and Greater Green Bay Area Lodging Association to create restaurant week, which had an overall economic impact of nearly $600,000.

? Festival Foods was named an Outstanding Philanthropic Organization at the National Philanthropy Day Awards luncheon. Festival Foods was recognized for its dedicaiton to the communities the company serves.

? Jeanne Agneessens, retiring as director of Leadership Green Bay, was honored for impacting other leaders at the 2013 Leadership Wisconsin convention. She received the Modeling the Way award.

? Paper Transport, Ashwaubenon, received the Great West Platinum National Safety Award which recognizes the company's safe work environment.

? In the November edition, American Banker magazine published a list of "Best Banks to Work For," which included North Shore Bank, based in Brookfield. North Shore has offices in the Green Bay area and in Door County.

? 1st National Bank, headquartered in Berlin, Wis., was also named one of the Best Banks to Work For. First National operates eight branches and a loan processing office in Northeastern Wisconsin.

? Waupaca Foundry earned an Inc. magazine Hire Power Award, which recognizes private businesses that have generated the most jobs in the past 18 months.
