GET-TOGETHERS: Family and friends getting together socially. You often get to see people you haven't seen for months and, sometimes, years.

Larry Smith,

Neenah

SPIRIT OF THE SEASON: I love Thanksgiving. One reason is because it is very hard to commercialize or glamorize a turkey. I love the family getting together to give thanks to God for all his blessings and to enjoy a sumptuous feast. Christmas is lights, church services, cards, beautiful trees, gifts and especially, to me, the music. From the magnificent Handel's "Messiah" to the squeaky children's choir singing "Away in a Manager." Christmas music, sacred or secular, is wonderful. "Silent Night" can still bring a lump to my throat. Even though Grinches like some public schools, the post office and atheists do their best to keep Christ out of Christmas, they can never take him out of the hearts of believers. Merry Christmas!

Marion Koepke,

Appleton

Maxwell Ward: Nothing is better than spending time with family on the holidays.

Erin Stoffel: Family ... nothing better.

Adam Rucci: The Black Friday deals. Especially the deals on Thanksgiving. There's nothing better, nothing!

Diane Krueger: That they will be over. Can't come soon enough!

From Twitter

Esther Willoughby: Making warm memories in cold weather!
