In Mike Smith's opinion, Dom Capers will go down as one of the greatest defensive minds the NFL has seen.

While the Atlanta Falcons coach might be spot on in his estimation, the stretch run of the 2013 season could go a long way in determining the 63-year-old veteran coach's future with the Green Bay Packers if the defense's steady decline continues.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy has backed Capers at every turn, and players haven't moved a finger toward blaming the man who revitalized the Packers' defense in 2009 and helped capture a Lombardi Trophy the following year. ...
