Helen Connor Laird had two passions - education and the arts. Both of those areas continue to be served today by the Laird Endowment Fund for the Arts, which has distributed more than $1 million in support of the fine arts.

The Laird Endowment Fund for the Arts Advisory Committee is calling for proposals that support cultural and/or artistic events to be held in the Helen Connor Laird Theatre (340-seat) or Black Box theatre (up to 90-seat) at UW-Marshfield/Wood County. To be eligible, events must:

? Be held in the theater(s) of the Helen Connor Laird Fine Arts Building.

? Occur between July 1, 2014 and June 30, 2015.

? Be organized/produced/conducted by individuals or representatives of community groups from the area served by the UW-Marshfield/Wood County campus.

A set of complete guidelines is available; call The University Foundation of the UW-Marshfield/Wood County at 715-384-1703, email roxanne.wetterau@uwc.edu or visit www.marshfield.uwc.edu, click on Laird Fund Proposal.

All proposals are due Feb. 1 to The University Foundation. The Laird Fund for the Arts Advisory Committee will determine the allocation of funds and notify authors of proposals of its decisions by March 15.
