The city of Wausau will move forward with a plan to build a new downtown parking ramp, pending council approval.

The city has been in talks with the La Crosse Catholic Diocese to demolish several buildings owned by Church of the Resurrection in the 100 block of Grant Street, in order to build the parking garage and install a cul-de-sac on Second Street.

On Tuesday, city staff memberspresented the diocese's latest proposal to the City Council, including terms, and received the council's blessing to move forward with negotiations. ...
