Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy sat out of Wednesday’s practice inside the Don Hutson Center after spraining an ankle in Sunday’s 22-21 win over Atlanta.

Lacy said after the game the ankle was still hurting, but played most of the second half after having it heavily taped during halftime against the Falcons.

Lacy worked off to the side with outside linebacker Mike Neal (abdomen), and inside linebackers Brad Jones (ankle) and Jamari Lattimore (knee), who also didn’t take part in individual or team drills.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers continued to practice for the third consecutive week despite admitting during his ESPN Wisconsin radio show on Tuesday that he felt some pain after his throwing sessions last week.

Rodgers expanded his workout as Packers coach Mike McCarthy indicated he would on Monday, taking part in some scrambling drills as part of his individual work. He took snaps from rookie JC Tretter. Matt Flynn continued to take snaps from starting center Evan Dietrich-Smith.

Receiver Randall Cobb also was not at practice. He’s eligible to be activated from temporary injured reserve this week, but has yet to practice since breaking a bone in a leg.

McCarthy was scheduled to meet with the media after practice on Tuesday.
