Federal grant awarded to ease impact of Oshkosh Corp. slowdown

A federal economic assistance grant awarded Thursday aims to strenghten the regional economy and reduce the impact of layoffs due to decreased military truck orders at Oshkosh Corp.

Rep. Tom Petri, R-Fond du Lac, announced release of the $837,316 from the Department of Defense's Office of Economic Adjustment to the East Central Regional Planning Commission "in response to defense funding reductions in the Oshkosh Region."
