The slippery conditions created by freezing rain and snow kept law enforcement busy.

The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office responded to seven crashes and 13 motorists whose vehicles were in the ditch or were stranded between 10 p.m. Thursday and 2 a.m. Friday, said Sheriff's Lt. Gordon Ledioyt.

Two of the crashes involved minor injuries, including a 5-year-old passenger who was taken to the hospital as a precaution for a bloody nose, Ledioyt said. The other injured person declined medical attention.

Oshkosh Police responded to six crashes and 10 calls to assist motorists. No one was injured in the crashes, said Joe Nichols, spokesman for the department.
