The Green Bay Packers might have to go without outside linebacker Clay Matthews for the remainder of the season after the four-time Pro Bowler reinjured his right thumb in Sunday's 38-31 loss to Pittsburgh.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Monday afternoon that Matthews was undergoing evaluations on his surgically repaired right thumb, but the initial diagnosis from the training staff wasn't promising.

Roughly an hour later, NFL Network reported Matthews had indeed re-broken the thumb on his second-quarter sack of Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. ...
