The NFL confirmed referee Carl Cheffers and his officiating crew erred during the final 10 seconds of the Green Bay Packers' 38-31 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

Following the loss, the Packers took issue with Cheffers and umpire Undrey Walsh for failing to immediately signal center Evan Dietrich-Smith to snap the ball after the play clock was restarted following a 10-second runoff for a false start penalty on right guard T.J. Lang.

The Packers said they planned to run two plays, but Walsh didn't signal to Dietrich-Smith to snap the ball until there were 3 seconds left on the clock. ...
