Dec. 28, 1960 - Yuenger named managing editor, Maier city editor of newspaper: David A. Yuenger, 46, and Harry P. Maier, 33, were named Managing Editor and City Editor, respectively, of the Press-Gazette in an announcement today by the Green Bay Newspaper Co.

Yuenger succeeds John B. Torinus as Managing Editor. The latter became Executive Editor of the newspaper Nov. 8. The new Managing Editor had been City Editor since 1954.

A native of Marinette, Yuenger got his earliest reporting assignment, while still a high school sophomore, with the Marinette Eagle-Star in 1930. Yuenger joined the Press-Gazette staff as a general assignment reporter in 1942.

Maier is a native of Sheboygan and the son of the Managing Editor of the Sheboygan Press, Harold Maier.

His first newspaper assignment was with the Portage Daily Register. In 1953, he became that newspaper's wire editor, a position he held until joining the Press-Gazette in 1956.
