A parental school choice program dominated both political and education news this past year.

The private school voucher program that already existed in Milwaukee and Racine was expanded statewide, including Fond du Lac.

The move by Gov. Scott Walker was cause for contention. Opponents believe voucher enrollment diminishes support for public schools. Those in favor call it a victory for parents who want more educational options for their children and their tax dollars to follow. ...
