The first time Colin Kaepernick faced the Green Bay Packers, in the divisional round of the playoffs last year, his 181 yards rushing in the San Francisco 49ers' 14-point win set an NFL record for a quarterback in the playoffs.

The second time Kaepernick played the Packers, in the regular-season opener this year, defensive coordinator Dom Capers mostly had his pass rushers hold their lanes rather than go for sacks, which took away Kaepernick's scrambling. Kaepernick sat back in the pocket and threw for 412 yards, a 129.4 passer rating and put up 34 points.
