McAdoo poised to break into top coaching ranks

When the Green Bay Packers were looking for a new quarterbacks coach two years ago, Aaron Rodgers was hoping coach Mike McCarthy would hire a former quarterback for the job.

What Rodgers got was Ben McAdoo, the rising young Packers assistant who only two years later is a candidate for the Cleveland Browns' head coaching position and, barring that, likely a job as offensive coordinator with another team.

McAdoo never played quarterback or in the NFL but won over Rodgers with his work ethic and attention to detail. Though he's never been a head coach at any level, either, McAdoo will interview ...
