Coach Mike McCarthy left no doubt that Dom Capers will be back as the Packers' defensive coordinator next season.

As per his custom at his season ending press conference, McCarthy when asked directly wouldn’t unequivocally say Capers will return for a sixth season because the coach won't finish his coaching staff evaluations and exit interviews for about two more weeks.

But McCarthy made it clear that the 63-year-old Capers will be his defensive coordinator in 2014.

“I think Dom Capers as an outstanding football coach, and I'm glad he's on our staff,” McCarthy said.

Capers has been the Packers' defensive coordinator since 2009. This season the Packers' finished No. 25 in the NFL in yards allowed, tied for No. 24 in points allowed and No. 25 in defensive passer rating.
