Lacy named NFL writers' rookie of year

The Pro Football Writers of America has voted Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy its rookie of the year.

Lacy led all rookies in rushing with 1,178 yards, which also ranked eighth in the NFL overall. His 11 rushing touchdowns ranked third in the league.

San Diego Chargers receiver Keenan Allen was named offensive rookie of the year, and Buffalo Bills linebacker Kiko Alonso was voted defensive rookie of the year.

Allen caught 71 passes for 1,046 yards and eight touchdowns. Alonso finished third in the NFL in tackles (159) and had four interceptions.
