Jazz duo Katie Schnorr and George Sawyn are in concert for the Emerson Series Feb. 1 at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Door County.

Their program will feature standards from the American songbook, from Duke Ellington to Ella Fitzgerald, and some new tunes that audiences have not heard the duo perform before. A similar mix of standards and newer pieces was heard by area jazz buffs on Schnorr's debut album, "Blue Shoes," which featured Sawyn on his guitar and was released last spring.

Sawyn brings to the duo decades of experience as a band musician, solo performer and composer/arranger. ...
