Speech, play readings on horizon for Door County Reads

Door County Reads presents its keynote speech in the next week, then takes to the stage with play readings related to the program's selected book, "The Memory of Old Jack" by Wendell Berry. Admission to these events is free.

For the keynote event, Dr. Susan McFadden will talk about "Old Jack and Port William in the 21st Century." She will reflect on how Jack might be viewed today by people in Port William, the fictional Kentucky community where "The Memory of Old Jack" is set, and will theorize on if Port William would be an age-friendly community.
