Crivitz couple gets five years in prison for mail fraud in arson case

A Crivitz couple was sentenced in federal court to five years in prison for mail fraud for submitting an insurance claim for a Suring tavern destroyed by arson.

Jessica Miller, 38, and Donald Halbur Jr., 33, will serve the sentence concurrent to their five year sentences for arson-fraud in Marinette County for the destruction of Miller's home in the town of Stephenson.

"When you look at the magnitude of these crimes, to be given a five-year sentence for both is very fair and reasonable," U.S. District Court Judge William Griesbach said at Miller's hearing. ...
