Creative Business Services/CBS-Global of Green Bay announced this week that John Pagel has purchased Ron's Wisconsin Cheese of Luxemburg.

Bob Wolter from the Green Bay firm facilitated the purchase from Tim and Terry Renard on Jan. 3. Pagel is the owner of Pagel's Ponderosa Dairy.

Ron and Marilyn Renard started Ron's Wisconsin Cheese, primarily a wholesale cheese distribution operation famous for its flavored spreadable cream cheeses, in 1976.

The operation was later passed onto their sons, Tim and Terry Renard, who successfully continued to operate the business and expanded business in the northeastern part of the state.

John Pagel purchased the Pagel family homestead dairy farm from his parents, Carl and Garnet Pagel, back in 1978. Since then, he has developed Pagel's Ponderosa into a 5,000-cow milking operation with more than 100 employees.

"John has always wanted to enter into the cheese business and he and his new team are excited about the opportunities that Ron's presents," said the news release announcing the change of ownership.

The Renard brothers plan to work with Pagel for a period of time to ensure a smooth transition.
