Gibraltar hires new softball coach

Nick Bastian is making a position change at Gibraltar High School.

Bastian, who's been an assistant baseball coach the last two years, was hired Monday as the Vikings' new varsity softball coach. It's the first head coaching position for Bastian, 27, who graduated from Gibraltar in 2005.

"I'm really motivated," he said. "When I see that green grass and spring is in the air, I'm going to be ready. I've got a lot of support from people in the community, and I'm really excited to get started. ...
