The last time the Green Bay Packers hired a quarterbacks coach, Aaron Rodgers was hoping it would be someone who'd played the position in the NFL.

He didn't get it in 2012 with Ben McAdoo, who nevertheless gained Rodgers' respect with his work ethic in their two years together.

But with McAdoo becoming the New York Giants' offensive coordinator this offseason, Rodgers is getting his wish this time around. Though the Packers haven't announced it, coach Mike McCarthy is promoting Alex Van Pelt from running backs coach to quarterbacks coach. ...
