Child advocates push to end elective early births

A group of Marathon County child-health advocates has launched a public campaign to discourage pregnant women from inducing labor early.

The Early Years Coalition, made up of 30 organizations including health care providers, educators and family and children advocates, wants everyone to know that giving birth early can seriously affect the health and development of both babies and mothers. The campaign, called Healthy Babies are Worth the Wait, will use fliers, a website, bus advertisements and television commercials to drive home the point.
