Terry McNulty, Forestville village president and Southern Door School Board member, has announced he will seek the Republican nomination for Wisconsin's 1st Assembly District seat.

McNulty is the third candidate to declare his intention to run for the seat currently held by state Rep. Garey Bies, R-Sister Bay. Bies announced his intention to retire in January. Last week Jon Kruse, a small business owner from Sturgeon Bay, announced his intention to seek the Republican nomination. McNulty's announcement sets up a potential GOP primary Aug. 12.
