Kory Lallemont of Sturgeon Bay gets the attention of fellow winter racing enthusiasts en route to the starting line Saturday at the inaugural Winter Carnivale on Kangaroo Lake in Baileys Harbor.

The event held time trials and radar runs for snowmobiles, ATV and vehicles, including Lallemont's handmade vehicle that is similar to a midget sprint cart with a 750 cc engine.

The carnivale kicked off Friday night with a bonfire at Baileys Harbor Recreation Park. Saturday featured the radar runs on Kangaroo Lake along with pond hockey. Maxwelton Braes Lodge hosted reggae band United on Saturday night.

The festival concludes with the winters farmers market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Baileys Harbor Town Hall.
