Sun shining nearly every day in winter in the Southwest and a large population can result in attractions not often found in central Wisconsin. Such as the aviation museum, South Mountain Park, upscale art at Scottsdale and Fountain Hills, a renowned zoo and the rugged Apache Trail.

On Feb. 8, 2013, Wisconsin Rapids had 26 degrees; Mesa had 54. It DID rain once that month, though, and an unusual - for Arizona - three-day January frost had nipped flowers ...
