Two Rivers board eyes boiler replacement

Two boilers approaching 60 years of service in the Two Rivers Public School District are quickly coming due for replacement.

"When we did facilities (improvements) 15 years ago and did some upgrades at Magee and L.B. Clarke, the engineers at the time said, 'You know, your boilers are probably good for about 15 more years,'" said District Administrator Randy Fredrikson. "Well, guess what? It's been about 15 years."

According to administrators, Magee Elementary was built in 1958 and L.B. Clarke was built in 1965 - and both schools are still using their original boilers. ...
