Wausau arts foundation director O'Connell to leave for UWSP job

Jim O'Connell, who has led Wausau's Performing Arts Foundation for more than two decades and helped to oversee a major expansion of The Grand theater, will leave the job this summer to teach at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

O'Connell, 64, made the announcement Monday during a meeting with the Daily Herald Media Editorial Board. His last day as executive director of the PAF will be July 31.

O'Connell said he has accepted a job as an assistant professor of communication at UWSP, where he will teach arts management starting in the fall. He said it will give the PAF a chance to find a new ...
