Updated: Fire at Adams County Humane Society contained to laundry room, shelter official says (with video)

Animals and staff members are back in the Adams County Humane Society after a fire temporarily displaced them for about two hours Monday morning, shelter officials said.

The fire, which started at about 8:30 a.m. Monday, did not affect the shelter's dog and cat rooms, said Mary Anne Keul, a board member for the shelter. Although no animals were injured, a veterinarian planned to check the animals sometime Monday.
