A Sturgeon Bay girl received two surprises Saturday: a fire truck ride and party courtesy of the Sturgeon Bay police and fire departments, and a trip to Florida from the Make a Wish Foundation.

Kaitlyn Leonardson, 12, who has a blood disorder called fanconi anemia, was picked up by a Sturgeon Bay fire truck - decorated with a killer whale and a dolphin - around 4:45 p.m. and brought to Sturgeon Bay City Hall. The fire truck also had a police escort. The dolphin and whale represent Kaitlyn's love of aquatic animals.
