18 arrested in drug sweep; five still sought

After a six-month investigation into drug trafficking in Door and Kewaunee counties, the Door-Kewaunee Drug Task Force (DKDTF) executed a search warrant in Kewaunee County on Feb. 10 and seized 269 pills, digital scale, plastic bags and drug paraphernalia.

On Feb. 11, 18 people were arrested on felony warrants, sheriffs Matt Joski and Terry Vogel reported in a news release Feb. 13, shortly before the Star-News went to press.

Nine were Kewaunee County residents: Aubrey J. Deeter, 21, Algoma; Aric M. Duffeck, 21, Algoma; Andrew B. Thornton, 28, Algoma; Jason D. Umberham, 27, Algoma; Christopher A. Shaw, 21, Algoma; Michelle M. Jeanquart, 23, Algoma; Maria J. Brunette, 69, Algoma; Donald R. Polk Jr., 33, Algoma, and Jeremiah C. Kleimola, 17, Algoma.

Five people had outstanding felony arrest warrants and had not yet been found. Three Algoma residents were still being sought: Alan K. Shaw, 43; Wesley S. Seekings, 29; and Lorie L. Deremo, 34.
